The triathletes will challenge in 3 consecutive trials without interruption: 2 km swim, 200 km bike and 20 km run.

After few days from the registration opening of the first edition “Tristar222 Sardinia - Arzachena Costa Smeralda”, I AM SPORT EVENTS & CONSULTING is proud to announce registrations of many athletes coming from England, France, Germany, Belgium and Italy.

Among the first athletes to have accepted the challenge there are Italian champions as Martina Dogana and Daniel Fontana, but also important names of international triathlon like the Belgian Peggy Claerbout and the German Lothar Leder, well-known in the world of the triathlon for being be the first man to finish an Ironman in less than 8 hours in a time of 7:57:02.

Lothar Leder, always accompanied by his wife Nicole - a famous triathlete too- , won 5 Ironman in Germany and conquered the podium 2 times at Ironman World Championship in Hawaii, completing in both cases the fastest marathon split. On the announcement of a new event in Italy in such a suggestive and sport stimulating - due to a new format of race distance - context, Leder didn’t hesitated to confirm is presence.

At 7 months from the event, scheduled on October 3rd in Arzachena, it is already outlining a starting line rich of international stars, composed by athletes of absolute level who will contribute to make the challenge more competitive and attractive also for non professional athletes and all the fans of this sport.

The money prize of the first Tristar222 Sardinia has been set by the organization to 40.000 euros for the first 5 men and the first 5 women.

The first race confirmed organized by I AM SPORT EVENTS will gather the best triathletes on October 3^rd in Arzachena, Costa Smeralda, where preparations for an event which is expected to have an extensive participation of fans from all around the world has already begun. The initiative includes the support of Region Sardinia that allowed the birth of TriStar222 Sardinia - Arzachena Costa Smeralda providing roads and other areas that will be part of the course race and adjacent spaces.

Thanks to the contract signed with the Monegasque company Star Production, which owns the brand TRISTAR, I AM SPORT EVENTS is now part of a already well-known brand, organizer of events such as the upcoming races TriStar200 Andalucia Desafio Donana, Germany TriStar111 Nibelungen Worms and TriStar111 Monaco. They will share their understanding on technical specifications and design as well as event marketing strategies and business helping I AM SPORT EVENTS to achieve the desired objectives and meet all the needs of the participating athletes.

The Sardinian event promoted by I AM SPORT EVENTS will also have the support of FITRI (Italian Triathlon Federation) and the Road Runners Club Milan as technical support and will benefit the technical collaboration of Oscar Petroboni, technical delegate for the Beijing Olympics 2008 and Member of the Technical Commission of ETU (European Triathlon Union).

The 2 km swim, 200 km bike on cycle-dedicated roads and 20 km run race course will touch the territory of Arzachena and other areas of Costa Smeralda, that for the occasion will close involved roads to the vehicular traffic. Arzachena will become a real village in the International Triathlon, equipped with every comfort for the athletes and the guests (bike park, dining and relaxation areas, press room, sponsor booths) and daily activities including pasta party and other occasions of entertainment.
