Bella… Bayliss, Hawaii is my ultimate goal

texte plus petitWe will have to get used to it! The Scottish Bella Comerford were married just 10 days ago and said "yes" to British Stephen Bayliss, triathlete with whom she shares the past three years in competitions and in her life. She will now be Mrs Bayliss, in the city and on the races.
We asked her about her exceptional 2008 season (4 Ironman victories in South Africa, Canarias, Florida and Embrun) punctuated by a superb 7th place in Kona, before a final (fifth in Florida) victory at Panama City Beach in November.
Xtriathlon : Hello Bella… What a wonderful year!
Could you tell us what’s in your mind now,
fullness…?
Bella Bayliss :
I am very happy and proud of my results this year! It
has been my best year to date and it motivates me for my years
ahead!
Xtriathlon : You finished 7th in Kona
after an amazing season; in two words, what’s your feeling
?
Bella Bayliss : I was
over the moon with my 7th place in Hawaii. My goal was to
come top 10. If I had come 10th I would have been very
happy. But I had the opportunity to go better than 10th so
I took the opportunity with open arms!
Xtriathlon : This was your 5th win in
Panama City Beach, the day of your birthday. Could you tell us
some words of this race?
Bella Bayliss
: I love racing Ironman Florida! I have
raced it 7 times now! So I know the course very well! I
took the lead about half way on the bike course and never looked
back. I was made to work hard for my 1st place as the other
girls also wanted a win!
My win was the best birthday present!!
Xtriathlon : Only two weeks after Kona… you are not
tired ?
Bella Bayliss : I
have raced often all this year. It works well for me.
People try to tell me I race too much, but I don't listen to
them. I listen to my coach only.
Xtriathlon : There is only one title which is
missing to your Curriculum Vitae : Kona. This will be your main
goal next year?
Bella Bayliss :
Hawaii is my ultimate goal. I will continue to train
as I have been doing and I hope that each year I will continue to
get stronger and stronger and that one of these next few years I
will really put pressure on the girls for a podium at
Hawaii.
Xtriathlon : Congratulations on your weeding
with Stephen; you are the couple of the
year!

: Stephen and I are very happy to now be
married! Our wedding day was beautiful and perfect.
It was better than we even imagined! My name is now Bella
Bayliss!
